Faced with significantly increased enrollment projections and seeking to improve existing conditions at this small school west of Bozeman, the Monforton School District Board of Trustees needed help putting together site masterplanning and building concepts. Clear communication to the voters was critical in obtaining approval for a 3.5 million dollar bond to renovate and add classrooms.
The project will improve existing electrical and heating & air handling systems and relocate the kindergarten, first and second grade children out of the pre-1900 era south school. Classrooms will be added to the north school, last updated in 1992, in order to accommodate the youngest students and to provide additional instruction space.
Comma-Q Architecture has led a planning team for this project comprised of resident and business community members since 2009.
