Patterns of Landscape: Part 1
The recent flooding in Montana has me thinking a lot about rivers. They are extremely dynamic and fascinating. But we usually only see them as we cross a bridge or are right down on them fishing and boating. Google Earth allows use to fly around the countryside from city to city. But have you ever taken the time to examine a river from space?
Meander scars and oxbow lakes are beautiful patterns on the landscape that reveal the river’s history. Reminiscent of the Art Nouveau movement, these patterns could provide inspiration for design projects.
