Irving School: Addition / Mechanical Upgrades
As part of a district-wide upgrade plan, Bozeman Schools identified replacement of a 50 year old mechanical system, upgrades to meet ADA standards, and response to changing educational requirements as a high priority at the historic Irving School. That design challenge was met through the careful teamwork of the School District, Comma-Q Architecture, Mechanical Engineer Larry Bronec, and Structural Engineer John Schlegelmilch.
The team created 2,000 square feet of new mechanical space without changing the building footprint and, in the process, incorporated a new full size classroom, support space, office, elevator corridor for future elevator addition, and additional accessible toilet rooms.
